COMPLETE INSPECTION OF GAS TURBINE FILTER HOUSE TO INCLUDE:
- Inspection of Filter Media, Filtration System, Instrumentation (Differential Gauges and Switches), Clean/Dirty Air Plenum, Drains, Retaining Hardware, Site Storage Conditions, Access Doors, Fog Cooling and Evaporative Cooling Systems (if applicable)
- Evaluate Current practices and identify areas of improvement that will increase the quality and cleanliness towards improving Gas Turbine Performance and Reducing Maintenance Related Costs
- Prepare a report to assist the Maintenance Reliability Team with their mission of identifying, developing, implementing Best Filtration/Cooling practices that ensures reliable Gas Turbine Filter House Equipment/Filtration/Cooling Operations
- Create a structure and plan for future audits
- Identify Remaining Useful Life (RUL) test for GT Filtration and Evaporative Cooling Media
- Target Gas Turbine Filtration, Filter Media & Elements, Filtration System, Selection Criteria based on Operating Environment & Atmospheric Conditions, Fog Cooling and/or Anti-icing Evaporative Cooling System, Ingression Conditions in Weather Hoods, Plenum Floor, & Drain Areas
- Using Standard S.W.O.T. Analysis (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) to improve Gas Turbine performance and maintenance reliability
NOTE: Electrical Repairs to Piping, Pump & Motors for Filter House & Fogging/Evaporative Cooling Systems are not included as part of audit
Inspection of Gas Turbine Filter House to include:
FILTERING SYSTEM
- Inspection of Filter Media and Filtration System
- Physical Inspect Holding Frames and Grid Plates
- Evaluate Filtration Retaining Hardware
- Perform RUL (Remaining Useful Life) Test of Filters
- Check for Bypass (Air Tight) Sealing Quality, Visible Gaps
- Evaluate Pressure Drop and Change-out Procedures or Pulse Frequency
FILTER HOUSE INSTRUMENTATION
- Physical Inspection of differential pressure gauges and switches (including check for calibration and correct reading)
- Check for moisture, factory seals on gauges
- Check safety and shutdown alarms for inspection procedures
- Examine System Operating Pressures (regulation of air reservoir headers)
- Review monitoring of practices differential pressure across filter banks
PLENUM AREA
- Inspect Drain Valves and Reservoirs in Plenum
- Check for moisture or standing water on Clean and Dirty Air Plenum Floor (Potential Safety Hazards)
- Inspect Support Columns and Silencer Panels
- Examine Walls, Floors (Rust/Corrosion)
- Examine Framework, perforated sheet and inspect insulation material in Silencer Panels
WEATHER HOODS & LOUVERS
- Inspect Drift Eliminator
- Rain Hood
- Louvers
- Demister
- Anti Icing Devices
EVAPORATIVE COOLER
- Inspect Evaporative Cooling Pads and Sump
- Examine Water Distribution System
- Check for Scale and Mineral Deposits
- Review pH monitoring (Water Treatment)
- Inspect Bleed-Off and make up water
- Check valves, strainers, and pumps
- Review Cooling Performance
FOG COOLING SYSTEM
- Inspect Nozzles, Manifolds and Interconnect Tubing
- Check Pumps and Water Filter
- Examine Control Panel and Weather Station
- Check Temperature, Differential Pressure, Flow Transmitters
- Evaluate/Review PLC Monitoring
- Inspect Drains and Water Quality
